Summerlin – A Great Place to Have a Dog

There are so many reasons that Summerlin is the place to be if you own a dog!

Summerlin in western Las Vegas, Nevada has a strong sense of community and part of which includes pets! There are numerous parks, trails, restaurants and activities that allow for you to bring your dog. Discover why its the place to be when you own a dog!

The Trails

The trail system, which links villages, neighborhoods and parks, is currently 150 miles in length and will eventually be more than 200 miles long upon completion. There are four kinds of trails: street-side, village, regional and natural trails designed to accommodate walkers, joggers, cyclists and skaters. Amenities Map

The Parks

Most of the parks are owned and maintained by the Council. Currently, there are 24 community parks with a new one opening late 2017. Summerlin is also home to scores of smaller pocket and neighborhood parks that when combined with major community parks, brings the total number of parks to nearly 250.

The Restaurants

Many of the restaurants allow dogs on their patios; the favorite being Lazy Dog in Downtown Summerlin! They have a complete menu for dogs, provide water bowls and lots of socializing! Here are some other great restaurants to take dogs:

Downtown Summerlin is super pet friendly! Many of the shops welcome dogs and even have water bowls outside their front doors. The festivals, concerts, holiday events and farmer’s market on Saturdays are filled with shoppers and their dogs with plenty of samples for both.
