Best Places to Watch Fireworks – Fourth of July Fireworks of great vantage points include The Strip, Downtown, Green Valley Ranch, Lake Las Vegas, Red Rock Resort in Summerlin, Floyd Lamb Park (North), and M Resort (South).  www.thingstodoinlasvegas.com/fourth-of-july-fireworks-in-las-vegas

Super Summer Theatre – Spring Mountain Ranch’s outdoor performing arts theatre performing plays and musicals each Spring through Fall.  Now through July 1st performing Thursday – Saturday evenings is Rogers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella.  Starting on July 19 is Something Rotten.  All shows begin at 8:05 pm.  Pack a picnic, bring some wine and your blanket and enjoy theatre under the stars.  For a schedule and more info: www.supersummertheatre.org

For the Kids – Visit the Lion Habitat Ranch and meet the lions, parrots, ostriches, emus and Ozzie the Giraffe.  Get a behind the scenes tour, feed the animals and fall in love with Lions.  Open to walk in Thursday – Monday 10am – 1pm.  You can also purchase tickets online at: www.lionhabitatranch.org

Gilcrease Orchard – A place where families can bring their children and enjoy a sampling of life on a farm.  It’s a unique experience where you can pick fresh food straight off the tree or vine and taste the difference.  Seasonal fruits, vegetables and a farm stand with lots of yummy treats like jams, honey, peanut butter, olive oil and kettle corn.  There is still time to pick sunflowers for $2 per stem.  Open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 7am – 10am.  www.thegilcreaseorchard.org

Green Valley Ranch Farmer’s Market – Every Thursday, The District at Green Valley Ranch invites the community to its weekly Farmer’s Market where shoppers will enjoy a colorful assortment of freshly harvested produce.  Thursdays 9am – 1pm.  www.shopthedistrictgvr.com

Summerlin Farmer’s Market – Visit every Saturday, Downtown Summerlin in the Pavilion from 9am – 2pm.  Featuring the freshest fruits and veggies, handcrafted breads, farm fresh eggs, other local cooking supplies and lots of cool stuff.  www.summerlin.com/las-vegas-farmers-market
